DID YOU KNOW MEN AND WOMEN OFTEN EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT SYMPTOMS OF HEART ATTACK

Heart attack symptoms can vary from men to women. They may be sudden & intense or subtle & mild. Go to your nearest ER if you have experienced any of these symptoms to prevent it. As per the statics of last year 2015 in India nearly 30million people were suffered from heart diseases and 2 lakhs surgeries where performed in every year. Heart diseases in India are a growing concern.


Every year on 29th sep is celebrated as “World heart Day” in intent of raising awareness of Heart Strokes and Heart Attacks. Heart Attack is different from Heart stroke; every year has a different theme which tackles different aspects of heart diseases. Heart attack is also called as Myocardial infarction and mostly occurs due to coronary artery disease. Risk factors include High blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, lack of exercise, obesity and excessive alcohol intake.

Know the differences of Heart Stroke and Heart Attack

Stroke:

Blood supply to brain is blocked.

Affected parts of brain dies.

Heart Attack:

Flow of oxygenated blood to heart is blocked.

Heart Muscle dies.

Common symptoms of Stroke and Heart Attack

Stroke:

Dizziness or loss of balance

Confusion

Speech problems

Numbness on one side

Heart Attack:

Fatigue

Chest tightness or Pain

Pain in one or Both Arms

Nausea or Digestion

Note : Immediately go to nearest ER or Call Ambulance if someone faces this problem.

Heart muscle dies within minutes without oxygen

Thrombolysis for heart attack needs to be done within 3 hours

Brain cells dies within seconds during a stroke

Stroke medications must be given within 4 hours

Often but not always, experience the classic way of Signs of heart attack:

Uncomfortable pressure, Fullness, Squeezing or pain in the center of the chest that goes away and comes back.

Pain that spreads to the shoulders and arms

Chest discomfort with lightheadedness

Fainting, sweating, nausea or shortness of breath.

Trigger: Men most often report to the physical exertion prior to heart attacks.

WOMEN

May experience the classic symptoms, but they are often milder. Women may also have other symptoms like:

Shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing

Nausea, Vomiting or dizziness, back pain or jaw pain

Unexplained anxiety, weakness or fatigue

Palpitations or cold, Sweats or paleness

Mild Flu like symptoms

Trigger: As per the Women most often report emotional stresses are prior to heart attack.
